About Me

Hola! I’m Bessy Martinez, also known as The Everyday Jefa. I’m a proud mother of boys, a devoted wife, and the eldest of five, originally from the beautiful country of El Salvador 🇸🇻. My wardrobe reflects my bold personality, with 80% of my outfits in shades of pink, complemented by a love for tan and beige “soft era” aesthetics.

 

As the CEO and founder of The Latina Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, I am dedicated to empowering Latinas through community engagement, personal development, and entrepreneurship. At The Latina Foundation, we focus on meeting Latinas where they are and nurturing their individual growth to create a more vibrant world. I lead initiatives such as Austin Latinas Unidas and the Jefas on the Move Accelerator Program, providing essential resources and support for Latina women to thrive. I am honored to have been recognized as one of Austin Woman’s 2024 Change Makers, which inspires me to continue making a positive impact.

 

In addition to my nonprofit work, I manage my personal brand, The Everyday Jefa, where I host a podcast that shares the inspiring stories of Jefas making significant moves in their lives and careers. I also have the privilege of mentoring aspiring and start-up business owners through the Femprenuer Collective coaching & mastermind program.

 

My spiritual journey is an integral part of who I am, and I lead with thoughtfulness, awareness, and intuition. I have a passion for self-care practices, including the use of crystals, lunar rituals, and ancestral traditions, which help me connect with my authentic self. 

 

As an immigrant, I am committed to breaking cycles and systems that have historically limited opportunities. I believe in fostering collaboration over competition and encouraging individuals to challenge themselves in pursuit of personal excellence for the greater good. Being the first in my family to achieve many milestones drives my passion for helping others feel seen and empowered.
